Look What I Made! Volume 2....

Ok...so I never finished the other pair of lounge shorts I was telling you about (no surprise!)  I seriously have Craft induced spazi-ness, I can't keep my mind on a project long enough to follow through because then I get another idea in my head that sidetracks me! (this is where the name "Hypernoodle" came from, in case you didn't know!)  When it comes to projects and ideas, I am *definitely* all over the place.  One minute I'm like "ooooooo, yeah! I'm going to make such-and-such!"......
10 minutes later, I'm like: "What was that I was saying I was going to make?....oh well...ooooooooo, I can make this doo-dad!"  Well, this happened about 40,000 times before I started carrying around a little notebook I call my "Hyper Pad" so that I could at least write down these ideas as they are coming at me. (It helps!)

Besides not being able to sew with the launch of hypernoodlefabrics.com, here is what also side-tracked me from the lounge shorts........a cute lil' night gown/pajama dress:
nothing fancy--super easy!  This is my "Knit Escapade, Part Deux"--hee hee hee--I made the spaghetti straps out of ribbon!  As usual, no pattern...I already had measured myself for the lounge shorts, so I guesstimated the length I wanted it & cut out a simple silhouette with a scoop neck...it fits perfect!
And yes.....the mannequin has on a turtleneck...LOL...I didn't feel like undressing her to take the pic-LOL!
There's nothing like sewing, is there? *Sigh* it's soooo rewarding!
I just KNOW you guys can identify! ;)

There's another Give-Away coming next week, ya'll~so stay tuned!

Etsy Fabric and Handmade shop temporarily closed...

Howdy Ya'll!
The Hypernoodle Etsy Fabric Shop and Handmade Shop will be temporarily closed while we are moving...
We will be back at the end of next week!

The Hypernoodle Fabrics website will also be up and running at the end of next week--YAY!!!!!!

**Please note FOR FABRIC ORDERS (this does not apply to the Hypernoodle Handmade shop)
Due to numerous issues with custom listings and shipping overages on Etsy (see previous post below), and in an effort to keep stock counts as accurate as possible-- when the Etsy Fabric shop re-opens, we will no longer be offering custom listings on Etsy.  Individual yards will also not be offered in the Etsy store.  If you see what you need in the Etsy shop and would like to purchase there--please by all means, feel free!  We will be offering duos and trios only on Etsy and those listings are going to be sold "AS IS"--they will not able to be customized, changed or altered as far as what is listed or yardage amounts.  -----the link to the Etsy Fabric Store is posted to the right

If you'd like a custom fabric order, a different increment of yardage or individual yards, please visit the Hypernoodle Fabrics website where you can customize your cart with the amounts you'd like--bonus**--shipping will combine correctly!
Here is the link:      www.hypernoodlefabrics.com

If you have any questions~please post a comment here or email me through the "contact" link in the upper left corner of this blog!
See ya Soon!  ♥

Lil Ol' neglected Hypernoodle Handmade :(

For those of you who care less about ordering fabrics and love the Handmade Goodies at Hypernoodle Handmade...never fear!  With the opening of the hypernoodlefabrics.com website, I will have **oodles** of more time to create! (Fingers crossed!) You may have noticed that I tweaked the name of the shop to "Hypernoodle Handmade" because as much as I love making purses, I like creating other things too!  So I will still be making my signature bags, but will be offering new handmade goodies as well!  Stay tuned!

Hypernoodle Fabrics.com-- long wait almost over!

I am SO excited!  The super long wait for the Hypernoodle Fabrics website is almost over!
YIPPPEEEEE!
It has been a long time coming with so much hard work put into it, I cannot wait for everyone to be able to use it!  I think you will all be so happy with the ease of shopping for all of your fabrics!  We are talking about less than 2 weeks, people!!!  Woo Hoo!
I love Etsy~ but I know that "Custom Listings" on Etsy in the Hypernoodle Fabric store have been a point of frustration for us all.  It is not easy to shop for fabric on Etsy with the multiple variances of yardage and increments that a person can purchase fabric in.
I have had so many customers tell me how much they LOVE Hypernoodle Fabrics, but that they wish I had a website where they could shop because shopping on Etsy gives them a migraine since they can't purchase the quantities they like automatically from *ANY* fabric shop on Etsy.  You would not believe how much people despise the "Custom Listing"!  And I cannot blame any of you!  Well...we are going to alleviate that for ya!

ON HYPERNOODLEFABRICS.COM, you will be able to:

  • customize your cart in any 1/2 yard increment you choose!  Add to your cart automatically in the increment YOU need without having to ask for then wait for a custom listing (or have a time limit on a Custom Listing!)
  • SEE the available stock of every fabric next to its listing...this will help you know what Hypernoodle Fabrics has on hand of any particular fabric in real time!
  • Have shipping combine CORRECTLY at check out--there will be no need to worry about over-paying on shipping and then having to wait on a refund (or having to request and then wait on a custom listing to have shipping combine correctly!)
  • MORE opportunities for Coupons and Free Shipping on Hypernoodle Fabrics Website.
...The Site is ready to go--all we have to do is load in our actual stock amounts when it goes live--**PLEASE NOTE** that once hypernoodlefabrics.com goes live, individual yards and Custom Listing WILL NOT be offered in the Hypernoodle Fabrics Etsy Store.  The Hypernoodle Fabrics Etsy store will remain open, and will have Duos and Trios only.  Those Duos and Trios will not be customizable.  This is not only to help you shop easier, but to make sure we can maintain accurate stock amounts for our "real-time" stock counts on hypernoodlefabrics.com.

The only thing holding up the Grand Opening is that we are moving next week  :(  I am bummed we can't get it up for you next week, but almost everything is packed so we are going to start fresh once we are moved and settled--so look for the Grand Opening announcement around June 30th-July1st!

***WE WILL BE HAVING A ♥MAJOR♥ GIVEAWAY FOR THE GRAND OPENING OF HYPERNOODLEFABRICS.COM!!!** It is only being told about here on the BLOG!  Be sure to become a follower here on The Hyper Hub blog, as only followers will be in the running for this HUGE give-away!

Stay tuned for all the details!!!!

Look What I Made! Volume 1...

My Hypernoodle is in full overdrive...and while I ♥love♥ making purses, my creative juices have been craving to make something other than a purse!  I don't have a lot of sewing time lately with the Fabric Shop and building the Website for that, but in the **wee** hours of the morning when normal people are sleeping, I have been making lists of things I'd like to make and trying to whip some of them up!  The list is growing out of control but as I get them made, I'm going to post them for you all to see in my "Look What I Made!" blog section  Here's my first adventure....Lounge Shorts...
They have a drawstring and elastic waist~ I was so proud of myself because I typically don't make clothes~I wanted to make them with a knit fabric cause it is sooooo comfy~ and I found a cool fuchsia colored one in the clearance bin at my local fabric shop.  Mind you, it has been quite sometime since I sewed with knit fabric...the 1st time I tried years ago, I didn't have the right tension on my machine and I also didn't use a Ball Point Needle...so needless to say, it was a *HOT* jumbled mess and it scared me away from knits!  But I decided to try again because knowledge is power and now that I know lots more about knits--and used the right notions--it was a BREEZE!  Easy as pie!  Yaaay!

I didn't use a pattern, I have a favorite pair of Lounge Shorts that seriously need to be retired so I laid those out to make a template for sizing purposes.
I was trying to "eyeball" it to make the template and I added waaaaaay to much for seam allowance because they are HUGE!  LOL!  I mean GIGANTIC on me!  I put them on and my husband just started hysterically laughing--but I had to laugh too because they look ridiculous they are so big!  (please laugh with me if you have ever had such a sewing mishap!)  Anyway, I'm not perfect and I love laughing at myself~so I wanted to share it with ya!  My aunt who taught me how to sew always used to tell me that you can learn a lot more from your mistakes than you ever thought--and she is SO right!
The good news is that I actually measured myself and I know if I shave a bunch off my template, that they will work perfectly!  I guess this is why they say "measure twice/cut once", eh?

Anyway, now that I have conquered my fear of knits, I can make plenty more cool Lounge Shorts!  I have some Hello Kitty knit fabric and I'm going to have another go at it!  If they turn out as well as I hope~ I'm pretty sure I am going to have a kazillion pairs of Lounge Shorts to choose from!
What do you guys think of Knit Fabric?  Do you use it?  Would you like to see some in the shop?  Let me know! ☺

You say its your Biiiiiirrrthday....

Wheeeeeeeeee!!! It's my Birthday, ya'll!  And this is what I woke up to this morning...
Yipppeeeeee!!!!!  I actually *shrieked* when I saw it~ my hubby is awesome!!!  I've been wanting this Kitchen Aid Mixer (in Pink of course!) for about 7 years~ and every year I tell my hubby I want it and then I tell him "never mind" ~ I guess he got sick of this song and dance for the past 7 years -LOL!
It came right on time because my "Big Box" store mixer that I've been using had a glass bowl and I DROPPED it and it went "boom" and shattered into about 50 pieces a few months back  :(
I use a mixer a lot --& I was sooooo bummed because I've been trying to use a different bowl with it and after getting splashed in the face with rapidly moving cake batter, I decided to retire the Big Box Mixer for good.  I know, I'm so silly for being this excited about a Kitchen Mixer--LOL--but if you knew how long I've been eyeballing this thing, it would make sense!  My wonderful son got me my favvvvvorite cake~mmmmm--yummy!  Can't wait to stuff my face!  LOL! (so much for the calorie counting!)

Mainly though, Today I feel blessed and happy to be able to celebrate another birthday, smell and watch the summer flowers bloom and hear the birds sing ~it is always the little things in life that make it a joy to live ☺

Color Block Tot in the House...

So it looks like the New Fabrics that were supposed to come this week have been delayed  :(  Booooo!  But they are scheduled to ship out the week of the 16th, so not much longer!

Speaking of "New" fabrics...for those of you who don't know, I entered the recent Project Selvage contest on Spoonflower which was also sponsored by Micheal Miller Fabrics.  My fabric--named "Color Block Tot"  made it into the semi-final round --the top 75 out of almost 1,000 entries!  I've been playing with designing fabrics for awhile as fabric is an absolute obsession of mine that I am very passionate about.  So I decided to throw my hat into the ring (so to speak)!  There are some amazingly talented people who entered~ I didn't make it into the finals--but I am soooooo proud of myself for making it into the top 75 with my very 1st design!  It gives me that motivational push I need to press on!  I am not a professional graphic designer in any way shape or form~
My area of design expertise is sewing projects--I can design a purse from start to finish (and oodles of other things)~ and whip it together like there is no tomorrow because I *always* have TONS of ideas floating around in my head (thus the "Hypernoodle") So while I was designing these purses, plushies, wallets, diaper bags and fabric bins--I started envisioning fabrics I'd like them to be made in during the design process...problem was--there wasn't anything like the ones I was seeing in my head on the market!  So....it was the next natural step to start designing them myself!
But graphic design is a whoooooole 'nother animal--not for the faint of heart, indeed!  I've been teaching myself graphic design and have been lucky enough to have the help of my friend Dawn (who is an *amazing* graphic designer) I was able to mock up enough stuff up to have an actual design book of prints doodled out that needed to be digitized...and when the Spoonflower contest came up~ I thought no better time than the present & Color Block Tot was the one I choose for the contest.  I got an amazing response and some very lovely Congrats from my customers in the Etsy Shop (Thanks, ya'll!!!) If you haven't seen it, here is the design:

If you want to see the print in repeat (the way it will look when actually printed in a FQ or in yardage) check out my Spoonflower profile:    http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/hypernoodle

then just click on the fabric and you can select the radio dial button for how you want to view it in repeat  (ex: 1 yard, 2 yards, 5 yds--FQ)
So, I ordered a test-swatch of the fabric from Spoonflower and it finally came this week (took almost a month!) So here it is:

When I saw the coloring, I was like "ACK!!"---NOOOOOoooo!!
It was accurate on the RGB color scale in the digitized version...but it came out with a "washed out" look in the sample.  I wasn't too shocked because I had heard that with the way Spoonflower prints, the coloring can get skewed sometimes.  But, this is how we live and learn, right?
It's hard to tell in the picture, but all the colors are actually ok---except the red---it looks like a dark salmon  :(  ... the green is actually a moss color--the brown could be a shade or two darker as well.  So it's going to get tweaked and I'll get another sample printed to make sure it is more "true" in color and then I will be ordering a couple of yards or so to cut and sell as FQ's in my shop!  Yaaayyy!  I'm so proud!  I've got coordinates for this print as well~that will be coming soon!
Let me know if you are interested in purchasing a FQ or 1/2 yard of a one of a kind-original Hypernoodle Fabric!  When the tweaking is complete and I get some printed...there may also be a *give-a-way* on the blog for a FQ of my very 1st original fabric design!!  *Yippeee*!!!! ☺
