Twitterphobia...

I'm afraid to Twitter.
LOL
Seriously...I have Twitterphobia. Why you ask? It already feels like I spend 98.75% of my time with some sort of electronic device at my fingertips or on my ear.....what would happen if I start Twitter-ing???? MAN!-- I don't think I would ever be able to finish making a purse! I'm always on the computer plus, I'm not really a "text-er", I like to TALK on my phone--plus I have one of the ancient keypads where you have to hit the button 4 times to type an "S"....(who's laughing with me???) hee hee hee

It took me 3 years to blog, so I guess that by 2012 when everyone else is on to the next new thing, I will then be Twitter-ing! LOL!
In all reality, I know I will be soon (a Twitter-er) it is (as the rest of the technology) irresistible..
As soon as I get my new pink phone this fall--. Besides, after so many people ask you "Do you Twitter?" You will. (Thus the blog, lol))
Now, I must get back to the purses-- I am working on a ton of customs and still sketching that new wallet design! :)

Hypernoodle from my heart...

So, most of you already know what "Hypernoodle" but people still ask me so for those who don't know--here is the breakdown...
"Noodle" is actually my son's nickname from birth. My friend actually started calling him that because he was trying to crawl very early and he looked like a wet noodle trying to do it! Then he started trying to walk very early and it was funny watching his legs wobble (like a wet noodle) as he was trying to stand up and move. Over the months and years many adjectives have been added in front of the "Noodle"--when he was in diapers it was "PoopyNoodle" when he started eating by himself it was "MessyNoodle", when he was just being his little adorable self it was "CutieNoodle". He was a magnificent, bright, happy little boy who excelled in everything he did was putting together sentences and 4 year old puzzles when he was 18 months so then he was "SmartNoodle" because the "Noodle" was also a name for his noggin/brain....then...IT happened.....vaccination time...Now--don't get me wrong, I am NOT anti-vaccination by any means. I think vaccinations are a good thing and they have saved many lives over the years--however, I don't think that our children should be given all of those live viruses at one time--it is too much for their little immune systems to handle. The "one size fits all" policy the CDC recommends for childhood vaccinations does NOT work for every child! If the immune system is compromised at the time of vaccination for any reason--pumping a live virus into it certainly isn't (in my opinion) going to be a good thing! I found out years later that giving your child Tylenol (as some doctors suggest for comfort with the shots) on the day of vaccinations weakens their immune system! I am not going to get into the politics of vaccinations here--I know with some people it is a very sensitive subject and I know some people want us parents to "get off of" the vaccination causes Autism train because the Government keeps telling us that vaccinations do NOT cause Autism................ummmmmmm, the Government used to tell us that smoking didn't cause cancer either! HELLO!!!! I don't think the vaccinations cause Autism, but I firmly and strongly believe they trigger it---1 in 150 children has a form of Autism----all I can tell you is that I saw the life literally sucked out of my child within 24 hours of his vaccination at 18 months. I liken it to a vacuum being put on top of his head and turned on...it is the most bizarre and emotionally painful thing for a parent to witness. He was diagnosed with Mild Autism at the age of 3. I was on a mission from the time that happened to "get him back" so with many years of therapy/treatment and early use of vitamin supplements he is still a magnificent, bright, happy BIG boy--lol--doing his very best to function in a world with all of us "typical" folks! He was "upgraded" (if you will) from Mild Autism to the more clinical name Aspergers when he was 8 years old (which is basically an extremely high functioning version of Autism). He is just awesome and I love him the mostest!
Now, the "Hyper" part was added onto the "Noodle" by my family & husband. When I started making purses and was introduced to Etsy by my friend Dawn (thanks, Dawn!!) I was trying to think of a business name and "Noodle" was an obvious choice. So at first it was just going to be called "Noodles"and then one day my aunt said to me "WHERE does your mind come up with all of these things?!??!" and I told my husband and he said "Well, you do have an overactive mind!" and then it clicked------

overactive mind----overactive----overactive---hmmmm--overactive---HYPER!

Wooooo Hooooo!
I'm so glad to this day that that is the name I choose, I wanted it to be fun and it fits me and the purses to a "T". I didn't want it to be my actual name either so that people weren't walking around with a bag with my name in it somewhere-- even though I designed, created and constructed it--the customer was still buying it and why should you have to carry a bag with my name in/on it? (more on that later--lol)
So that is the meaning of Hypernoodle...it is truly from my overactive mind to your hands....one bag at a time! LOL

Purses galore...

I am working on a bunch of new listings for the Etsy shop--
I hope to have some done within the next few days. I had some custom orders and a boutique order that I was working on but I am done with those now so it is time for more purses!

It is Hypernoodle's **BIRTHDAY**---Woooooo Hooooo! I opened my Etsy Hypernoodle shop in October of 2007, but I didn't start selling until March of 2008. So for the next few weeks in celebration of Hypernoodle's birthday (yes, I know it is now April and I have missed the mark-lol), I will be having special surprises for those Etsy customers who place an order! (I love surprises!!) It is all part of my customer appreciation montage because "I love and appreciate all of my customers!!"

I've got my Etsy fabric shop open as well--it is called Hypernoodle2...FabricNoodle! I've got some great deals on fabric by the bolt, if you are needing some Michael Miller prints you should check it out. here's a link... www.hypernoodle2.etsy.com

Back to the purse-makin'!

Mr. Froggy...

Hey all!
I'm trying to get in control/have a better schedule of this blogging thing--lol--I'll get it together one day!
So, I've had a couple of people ask me at the Froggy picture on the right over yonder...
I love Froggies which is pretty miraculous seeing as how I used to be scared of them when I was little.
There is a mama and a baby frog that live outside my house "somewhere" (still haven't figured out where! although I know it has something to do with the flower bed in front of out house because that is where they always "enter and exit") and they come to my porch to visit frequently. I go out there all the time just to check if they are there. But they only come 1) At night (with no porch light on) and 2) when it is warm. I have named the little one "Mr. Froggy"--lol--I am convinced he is some re-incarnated person because of how often he comes to see me. He will literally come all the way to my front door and just sit there waiting for me to come out. A few months back when I opened the door he JUMPED right in my house. It was pretty funny, my son had to help me get him out because he didn't want to leave! So after that, I started opening the door and jumping out and closing the door really fast behind me.....(disaster story coming in 5,4,3,2....) So about 3 weeks ago I opened the door (no porch light remember), popped out and quickly started to shut the door behind me when I felt some resistance---the weather stripping is loose on out front door so I was SURE that's what it was...I was WRONG! --Welp, Mr. Froggy was trying to jump in as I was closing the door and I almost SMOOSHED him in my front door-----Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh--I was a WRECK! I mean I cried like a newborn child. I thought for sure he was a goner~ Luckily, only his leg was a little smooshed--but it was sooooo sad because he was "limp" jumping with his little smooshed leg, he was having a really hard time. He backed up against the wall and just sat there looking at me like "Whhhhyyyy did you DO tha to me?!?!?!" I ran inside (could barely see from the tears) and grabbed a magazine, came back out and scooped him up on it. I took him back to the flower bed where I gently sat him down. Then I sat there are cried some more. I was so upset!
It took my husband about an hour of trying to convince me that he would be fine because he was an amphibian and he would heal back just fine. I was still crying and leery.
Needless to say, I didn't see Mr. Froggy for about 2 weeks---no sign of him or his mommy what soever. Then one day my sister went out and Mr. Froggy AND his mamma were outside waiting--my sister came inside snickering "Mr. Froggy's back and he brought his mom!--they DO NOT look happy!" I ran outside and told them (Yes, you read it right--I TALK to the frog's that live outside my house) that is was an accident and not to be scared because I don't want to hurt them. They accepted my apology because now everything is back to normal! They are back to visiting a couple of night a week! Yaaaayyy
Soooo, that is the story of Mr. Froggy...I am really going to miss him when we move this summer! :(
The Froggy illustration on the right was done by a wonderful artist named Natalie Dee. If you click on the picture it will take you to her website. She is HILARIOUS--I love her! I actually found her work through a wonderful woman I met on Etsy and became totally addicted to her work! A note of warning--Some of her comics are a bit un-PC--but that's why I love them! LOL--if we live in a world were we can't laugh at ourselves, we are in sad, sad shape. So I truly love her work because most of her comics are things we all experience/feel but don't talk about!...and some of them are just fun and silly! Check her out, she ROCKS!

Swamp Thing...

Welp, looks like I won't be moving the purse listings to Artfire anytime soon!
I'm SWAMPED with projects! I love it--it is awesome, my brain never stops churning with things I'm doing, want to do, need to do and so on and so on--lol...HEY~~ that is the essence of "Hypernoodle"! I'm working on a couple of new designs for bags and toying with making a different style wristlet and yet another wallet. Those things are in the infantile stages of development, but the bags are coming along nicely! I'd like to make some Plushies too~they are so much fun!
Anyhoo, I really want to take the time to devote to building the Artfire shop just like I did Etsy and since I don't have the time to put 110% into it right now, I'm just going to leave well enough alone until later.
The main reason is because I will be moving back home on the range to Colorado this June (less than 2 months! Yikes!) And I don't know how many of you can identify with a cross country, u-haul ridin' move across the country--but it is quite a chore. I've done it 3 times now--from CO to Arizona then back to CO again. And then from CO here to Houston 3 years ago. One good Hurricane season in Houston (after Ike last September) and I was ready to GO! lol--A hurricane and its aftermath is one of the most bizarre things I have ever lived though--after it was over, my son said he would take a good old Colorado Blizzard anyday over a Hurricane and I must admit, I wholeheartedly agree! Soooo, with all the planning, packing, arrangements that need to be made--my family, the Etsy shop, the Artfire shop, the Etsy fabric shop and my real job and all the other misc things that are involved with a cross country move (besides keeping up with the day to day) I won't have the adequate time to devote to Artfire until after the move. :(

But, no worries, I will still have new listings up in the Etsy store up until the point that I pack away the sewing machine (oh, woe is ME--I can't even THINK about it!!!) and I have a wonderful "customer appreciation" **surprise** coming soon! Stay tuned!

I'm going to totally get on top of this blog thing and do my "Hypernoodle" defined and also my "fabric love" posts that I said were coming soon---but first....I must blog about Mr. Froggy...hee hee hee...coming tomorrow...G'nite!
